POTS/ISDN service signal testing
Serial testing
• VIA is inserted in disconnection module, splitter is not inserted in VIA
• Switch P is in open position
• Testing on RJ14 connector contacts either 1&4 or 2&3
Parallel testing
• VIA is inserted in disconnection module, splitter is not inserted in VIA
• Switch P is in closed position
• Testing on RJ14 connector contacts either 1&4 or 2&3
xDSL service signal testing
Serial testing
• Splitter is inserted in VIA, but VIA is not inserted in disconnection module
• Switch P position is not important!
• Testing on RJ14 connector contacts 2&3
Superimposed signal testing (xDSL over POTS or ISDN)
POTS/ISDN + xDSL serial testing
• VIA is inserted in disconnection module, splitter is inserted in VIA
• Switch P is in open position
• Testing on RJ14 connector contacts 2&3
Parallel testing
• VIA is inserted in disconnection module, splitter is inserted in VIA
• Switch P is in closed position
• Testing on RJ14 connector contacts 2&3
Note: POTS/ISDN signal testing is available on RJ14 connector contacts 1&4
Line testing without POTS/ISDN and xDSL signal
Serial testing
• VIA is inserted in disconnection module, but splitter is not inserted in VIA
• Disconnection plug is inserted in disconnection contacts of VIA instead of splitter
• Switch P is in closed position
• Testing on RJ14 connector contacts 2&3
